KUALA LUMPUR - A teenager who used the registration number ' 'Nasty Port Flow' for his motorcycle has been arrested by the police during a Motorcycle Op carried out by the Department of Investigation and Traffic Enforcement from Aug 17 to Aug 19.

The 17-year-old had stated that the motorcycle registration number was installed for fun.

JSPT Chief of the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters, Assistant Commissioner Sarifudin Mohd Salleh, said the operation involved 173 police officerd in various stations around the capital.

"The areas involved were Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Pahang, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Kuantan, Jalan Ampang, Jalan P Ramlee and Jalan Tun Razak.

"The inspection discovered a motorcycle detected using the Nasty Port Flow registration number, on the back of which the original registration number is present but incomplete," he stated on Tuesday in a statement.

He said the operation was also carried out in collaboration with the Department of Environment (JAS) for exhaust testing.

"In addition to the 115 motorcycles seized during the operation, 741 summonses were issued for various offenses.

"The action was taken under Section 29 (1) of the Small Offenses Act of 1955 and Section 64 of the Road Transport Act of 1987," he stated.

Sarifudin said operations will continue over the weekend in order to prevent and entirely eliminate street gang activities.

"Safety of road users is a priority, as is ensuring that existing regulations are always followed by all.

"Any information on street gang activities can be passed to Jalan Tun H S Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-20719999," he said.
