MOSCOW - Ukraine attacked Moscow using three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight, of which two were shot down by air defences and the third jammed by radio and electronic warfare equipment, the Russian Defence Ministry said early on Wednesday, reported Sputnik.

"On Aug 23, air defence forces foiled another attempt by the Kyiv regime to launch a terrorist attack using three aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles against the city of Moscow. Two of the UAVs were destroyed by air defence forces mid-air over the territories of Mozhaysky and Khimki in the Moscow region," the ministry said.

"The third UAV was jammed by radio and electronic warfare and, having lost control, hit a building under construction," the ministry added.

The ministry said no one was injured in the incidents.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said on Telegram that the city's emergency services were inspecting the perimeter of the Moscow city business centre for damage from the drone, adding that several windows in two nearby buildings were smashed. - BERNAMA
