KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Umno continues to support the leadership of Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as Umno President.

Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the responsibility for the decline in support for Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) needs to be shouldered by all parties without blaming or urging the President to resign.

"Sabah Umno sees a decline in support due to many factors, that's why we need to do a 'post mortem' to fix all the weaknesses and this responsibility needs to be shouldered together with the party's top leadership, state leadership, divisions and branches.

"This is because after this, we will also face the state elections in Sabah," he said after chairing a meeting of the Sabah Umno Liaison Body at the Umno Building here yesterday.

He, however said that the decline in support for BN during the last state election should be considered.

"The decline in support during the state election cannot weaken our spirit to continue strengthening the party," he said.
