Umno Kedah is confident that Zahid will rebuild the party

ALOR SETAR -Umno Kedah has reiterated its full support towards Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as the Umno President.

Kedah Umno Information Chief Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin stated that the party is currently in a phase of repairing and rebuilding the party

According to him, Umno Kedah's stance is clear in rejecting any attempts to undermine the party's spirit through demands to set aside or force Ahmad Zahid to resign without utilizing proper democratic channels.

"Now is the time to rebuild the party, and the process of rebuilding Umno must be shouldered and collectively carried out by all levels of leadership, from the central leadership to the division and branch levels nationwide," he said in a statement today.

He expressed support for and welcomed the decision of the Umno Kedah State Meeting by the Kedah Umno State Liaison Chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, who has expressed full confidence in Zahid as the party's president.

Shaiful, who is also the Umno Merbok Division Chief stated that parties like PKR serve as an example of a mature political party that has strengthened itself with loyal members, ultimately rising to lead the nation again.

"PKR also underwent a significant party cleansing process after a series of betrayals by the group led by Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, which led thousands of party members to leave the party.

"Hence, it is crucial for Umno to regain stability and for Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid to remain as president to strengthen Umno's position in the political and administrative arena of the nation," he said.
