Azhar Idrus criticises Abang Tesla’s statement
SHAH ALAM - Popular independent preacher Azhar Idrus has criticised the statement made by social media influencer known as Abang Tesla that ‘the first wife is to be appreciated, the second wife to be loved’.
In a talk, Azhar said such statement was not right and it is not in the Quran and hadith.
“The first wife to be appreciated, second wife to be loved. Is this true or not?. It is true (to love and appreciate a wife), just that the person is not right
“Is this a hadith? This is something uttered by a netizen. In our life, do we follow the netizen or the hadith?. If we follow the netizen, it will lead us astray and to the hellfire,” he said in a video of his talk on Facebook on Friday.
Followers of Abang Tesla or his real name Muhammad Khal Iltizam were shocked after the influencer announced that he will get married for the second time.
Abang Tesla said there was an ustaz (religious preacher) who told him that ‘the first wife is to be appreciated and the second wife is to be loved’.
His statement drew a lot of backlash from the public.
Azhar added that the statement made by Abang Tesla could have hurt his first wife’s feelings.
“The first wife must be hurt with such statement.
“The husband is responsible for both wives because in the hadith, among the righteous are those who are good to their wives,” he said.
