SEREMBAN - The Speaker of the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly will be appointed from leaders of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).

The position of Deputy Speaker will be chosen from leaders of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) to maintain balance within the Unity Government.

This decision, announced by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, was reached by the leadership of the Unity Government in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony for both positions is scheduled for September 26.

"The Speaker's position has not been finalised yet, but it will essentially be chosen from the leaders of Amanah. The name will be submitted to Amanah.

"The position of Deputy Speaker will be filled by a member of PKR," he added after chairing the Exco Meeting at Wisma Negeri on Wednesday.

Aminuddin mentioned that the State Legislative Assembly session will span four days, including the opening ceremony graced by Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir on October 9.

"During the first state assembly session, two bills and an additional budget for state financial management in 2023 will be discussed." Meanwhile, Aminuddin stated that the state legislative assembly session for the 2024 Budget is scheduled for December 1 and will last for a week.
