Man crushed to death under falling tiles

SHAH ALAM - A man was crushed to death after eight pieces of tiles fell and hit on him while he was explaining the product specification to potential customers.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received a distress call on the incident at 9.47am today and firemen from Port Klang fire station were deployed to the scene.

“When arriving at the location, we saw the 40-year-old man, who is a worker at the factory, were trapped under the tiles.

“He was hit by eight pieces of mosaics that fell from a shelf in a storage store,” Mukhlis said.

Mukhlis added the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by officials from the Health Ministry.
