SHAH ALAM – DAP has used the song 'Setia' to deliver a message as part of the unity government.

This, its secretary-general Anthony Loke said was following the lyrics of the song composed by the late Tan Sri Mohamed Rahmat, which was suitable and reflected the building of a nation that is united.

"I instructed a local composer to rearrange 'Setia' and spent several hours in the recording studio with other DAP MPs, including Hannah Yeoh (Segambut), Steven Sim Chee Keong (Bukit Mertajam), Syahredzan Johan (Bangi) and Young Syefura Othman (Bentong) to produce 'Kitalah Malaysia: Setia (2023)'.

"Now, the current political climate is witnessing an increase in political division; therefore, DAP wants to use 'Setia' to convey the message as part of the unity government," he said in a statement on his Facebook page, today.

Loke added that the song was also his personal favourite since school, when it was included as part of the weekly assembly.

"Those who grew up in the 1980s must know this song very well and I think it is one of the best patriotic songs ever written," he added.
