JOHOR BAHRU - Nearly 200 Malay non-governmental organisation (NGO) coalitions in the state have expressed that they wanted to help Perikatan Nasional (PN) campaign in the Pulai parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state by-elections.

They expressed this during a dialogue session with PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in Kempas, yesterday.

Muhyiddin who is also Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president said he appreciated the support and assistance from the NGOs for the PN candidates in the Pulai parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state by-elections.

"Today there’s a meeting with Malay NGOs, the votes of voters including Malays are important for PN candidates to win.

“For PN candidates to win in the Pulai parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state by-elections, Malay voters need to come out en masse to secure a big victory.

"Just sitting at home and not voting but hoping for victory from other voters will cause PN not to win," he said.

Meanwhile, the Pagoh MP in his speech said the PN wave was deliberately named as the green wave to scare non-Malays against PN’s rise.

"This green wave is a ploy by certain groups to scare non-Malay voters to supporting PN," he said.
