Police investigate claims of maid abused by former politician

SHAH ALAM - Police are investigating a case of a maid allegedly abused by a former politician who was her employer on Monday.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the report was lodged by the victim at the Ampang Jaya District Police headquarters on Aug 22.

“The 54-year-old victim who was a foreign citizen lodged the report at around 4.16pm claiming to be injured by the individual who was a businessman.

“Following the incident, an investigation paper was opened under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which is intentionally bringing harm using a weapon,” he said in a statement on Monday.

He said the investigation paper was referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action.

“We are in the midst of completing the investigation in order to charge the suspect,” he said.
