KUALA LUMPUR - The Army Red Warrior Motorcycle Acrobatics Team will be looking for a new lineup for female motorcycle stunt performers later this year.

Female motorcycle stunt performer, Sergeant Saidatul Husna Kamaruddin, 35, said there was a need to find a new lineup because she wanted to rest for a while after successfully performing an epic jump on National Day 2023 at Dataran Putrajaya recently which captured the attention of all Malaysians.

She said new riders with strong mental and physical endurance will be a priority in the selection of female motorcycle stunt performers.

"I have a female rider partner but she is currently carrying out the Malaysian Battalion (Malbatt) mission abroad and will only return home at the end of this year.

"After the selection, the trainers will gauge whether their level of confidence is high or not while performing the stunts,” she told Bernama during an interview on Bernama Radio recently.

Saidatul Husna said such extreme activities can be done by women but need to be done correctly by joining the Army Red Warrior team.

She recently stole the limelight when she jumped over 66 Royal Enfield motorcycles on her scrambler before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah at the National Day 2023 celebration on Aug 31.

In March this year, the Kedah native set the record for the Longest Motorcycle Jump (Women) in the Malaysia Books of Record (MBOR) at the Malaysian Army Tattoo performance in conjunction with the 90th Army Day in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

"Having achieved that, I want to take a break. However, I may still do regular stunts.

"Anyway, for now, I don't have any plans yet. As for the men's team members, InsyaAllah they have plans to make a 40 to 43-metre jump to create an MBOR next year," she said.

On behalf of her team consisting of two officers and 48 members, Saidatul Husna said she hoped that motorcycle companies would come forward to sponsor new motorcycles to facilitate the team's performances in the future. - BERNAMA
