SHAH ALAM - Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek stressed the importance of recognising the challenges in Malaysia's education system during a Townhall Rakyat programme at the Karangkraf Complex, hosted by Samuel Isaiah.

Fadhlina highlighted that whoever takes on the role of Education Minister will have to tackle these challenges.

Despite the current situation, she noted some positive outcomes.

"Even amid the Covid-19 pandemic, we've seen remarkable students who have shown great resilience," Fadhlina pointed out.

She revealed several key initiatives the ministry is focusing on, including improving the quality of teachers, promoting a human-centered education approach, and emphasising character education.

"We have access to data, reports, and the resources needed to address these challenges," she reassured.

Fadhlina also addressed the issue of inadequate schools, known as 'sekolah daif,' stressing that it is a fundamental concern for education.

"We are actively working on improving access to education," she added.
