SHAH ALAM - Malaysian United Democratic Alliance’s (Muda) decision to retract its support for the unity government should serve as a lesson for Pakatan Harapan (PH), especially Amanah.

Amanah Youth Exco Fadhli Umar Aminolhuda said Muda has always criticised the government and was the cause of the government being attacked severely adding that Muda's action was something the party should have done.

He said youths were sick and tired of politicians who were hungry for power.

"What is more important is the party’s youth in particular needed to show and express that the leadership should be firmer and tougher in making any decision to give up any seat especially those held by Amanah to any other party especially a party that is very new.

“Let Amanah be the party that is expected to give way to any party including coalition partners. Our party is no longer the party of the future, but the party of today.

"Hopefully, this horrible episode with a party that had forgotten who they are, that are riding on youths will be an important lesson for all of us especially Amanah," he said in a statement today.

Earlier, Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman announced that the party has withdrawn its support for the unity government and would become the third force of the opposition bloc.

Syed Saddiq said the matter has been informed to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul through a letter, today.
