KUALA LUMPUR - After failing to table an emergency motion on Monday, MPs from the opposition bloc expressed dissatisfaction over the decision made by Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul.

Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (PN-Arau) had first stood up to table an emergency motion relating to Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and requested for the matter to be given a proper explanation.

He said they asked the Attorney-General (AG) to explain the decision on the release because many have 'opened up' discussions for the case.

"I ask the government to place their focus on the 47 cases (of charges towards Zahid), whether the government wanted to withdraw or prosecute again and such.

"Or is the government holding to the principles of the minister who said the appointment of the AG was made by 'our individuals'?

"I want to congratulate (Yang Berhormat) Muar (Syed Saddiq). The Hero of Malaysians now is Muar, This is the hero for Malaysians," he said.

Shahidan was referring to Syed Saddiq's move of withdrawing his party's support for the Unity government

"Yang Berhormat Arau, I would like to state the first warning. Sit down," deputy speaker Dtuk Ramli Md Nor responded.

"The hero for Malaysians is Muar, Syed Saddiq," Shahidan interfered.
