KLANG - "At that moment, I could only cry because I felt that my life was hanging by a thread.

"A woman said she faced a terrifying moment when she was confronted by a knife-wielding criminal who broke into and robbed her family's home in Taman Sri Andalas here last Sunday.

The woman, who wishes to be known as Liza, 49, said that during the incident, she was with her stepsister, sister, and friend in her late father's house.

"The incident happened at around 8.45am. After preparing breakfast in the kitchen, I went upstairs to take a shower, and that's when I encountered the suspect, who was wearing a mask and had just come out of one of the rooms.

"I was shocked and couldn't say anything after seeing him. He immediately grabbed my hand and placed the knife at my throat before dragging me downstairs," she said to Sinar on Tuesday.

She said that the suspect, upon realising that there were people downstairs, started shouting, urging them not to call the police.

"The suspect also yelled, saying he did this because his mother was sick and he needed money from us.

"At that moment, I could only cry and plead with the suspect not to harm me," she said.

According to her, the suspect then released her and quickly fled through the front door.

"The four of us didn't have a chance to do anything, except for my stepsister, who managed to run out of the house to seek help.

"Some of the items that were stolen include five wrist watches, two containers filled with coins, two gold rings, and a branded mobile phone, with an estimated loss of around RM8,000," she said.

Liza mentioned that a police report was subsequently filed at the South Klang district police headquarters (IPD) regarding the incident.

"Until now, I am still traumatised by what happened. I dare not stay alone in the house because I still vividly remember the situation during the incident.

"Currently, I am temporarily staying at my stepfather's house to calm myself down for a while. The moment when the knife was at my throat is still haunting, and I cannot describe that feeling," she said.
