Separation of powers AG, TPR: Two special task force established

PUTRAJAYA - A Special Task Force on Comparative Studies and a Special Technical Task Force were established in speeding up the reform efforts to separate the roles of the Attorney-General (AG) and the public prosecutor (TPR).

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Legal and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said that the Special Task Force for Comparative Studies is proposed to carry out a study based on the evidence of some countries such as England, Australia, Canada and Kenya for get more information that cannot be accessed through open data global best practice study.

"The Special Technical Task Force will investigate comprehensively regarding legal, staffing and financial implications," she said in a statement on Tuesday.
