Man missing for three days found dead in ditch

BATU PAHAT - A young man who had been reported missing for the past three days was found floating in a ditch in Kampung Parit Lapis Sempadan, Parit Raja this morning.

The victim identified as Muhammad Nazrul Aziz, 20, was found by villagers with his motorcycle at about 11.30am.

Batu Pahat District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ismail Dollah said the body was found fully clothed.

"A team of firefighters and rescuers led by Ayer Hitam Fire Station chief Mohd Shamin Mohd Salikin helped remove the victim's body and his motorcycle.

"Based on the family's initial identification through clothes, watch, mobile phone and motorcycle, the body is believed to be Muhammad Nazrul Aziz from Parit Raja.

"Muhammad Nazrul was reported to have left the house last Thursday evening. Based on the condition of the body found, the victim had been dead for over a day," he said in a statement today.

The case is classified as sudden death and the body was taken to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for autopsy.
