IPOH - The organiser of the "Viral TikTok Song Concert," A.Jee Event Entertainment, has assured that the event will adhere to all guidelines set by the authorities, including those related to the sensitivity of the local community.

The concert is scheduled to take place at the Batu Kawan Stadium in Penang on Sept 30.

Its manager, Hasnizam Alang said that he was summoned by the police and the Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) to provide information and details regarding the concert recently.

He said that he assured the authorities that the concert's organisation would comply with all the established guidelines.

"I was called by the authorities, namely the police, and I explained to them that the organization of the concert would proceed in accordance with the established guidelines.

"Moreover, MBSP advised us to adhere to these matters," he said at a press conference here yesterday.

The concert venue, which features Baby Shima and several Indonesian singers, was previously relocated from the Millennium Hall in Kepala Batas to the Batu Kawan Stadium in Penang after facing objections from local residents.

This was because the organisation of the concert was alleged to have disregarded the sensitivities of the local community, especially among Muslims.

Meanwhile, A.Jee Event Entertainment Director Mohd Hammali Mohammed Yusoff has denied claims on social media that the Viral TikTok Song Concert had been cancelled.

He clarified that the concert's organisation is still ongoing and had received an overwhelming response with nearly 30,000 tickets sold since May.

Mohd Hammali also expected more than 60,000 attendees, including fans from Singapore, Thailand, and Brunei.

"I hope there is no misunderstanding about the concept of this concert.

"It is not just a concert for the dangdut genre; instead, it features all genres of songs that have become popular on the TikTok social media platform, including pop and others," he added.

Baby Shima, whose real name is Nor Ashima Ramli said that despite the controversy surrounding the concert, it did not disrupt her preparations for the event.

She promised to deliver her best performance to all the Viral TikTok Song Concert attendees. - AWANI
