KUALA LUMPUR - Muda President Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has claimed that the allocation for the Muar parliamentary constituency has been withdrawn by the government.

He claimed that the action was taken immediately after his decision to no longer support the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and to exit the government bloc.

"Regarding this matter, I got confirmation from the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister's Department that as soon as I joined this block, the allocation was withdrawn," he told the Dewan Rakyat

He said a similar fate had occured to other members of Parliament.

"This is the same for all opposition members of parliament, who I am sure have not received allocations until today," he said.

Earlier, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek (PH- Nibong Tebal) gave assurances that she will not stop any plans for construction and education infrastructure in all states including opposition areas.

Following this, Tan Kar Hing (PH-Gopeng) stood up to express his support while at the same time expressing concern about the opposition's attitude which often plays on the sentiment that the government is picking feathers in providing allocations.

He also cited Syed Saddiq as an example.
