IPR machine is operational, it was turned off on purpose, says Rafizi

SHAH ALAM - Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli clarifies that the self-service Income Support Initiative (IPR) machine at KTM Bukit Mertajam is operating as usual.

This is following a complaint by a user on the 'X' platform, Mohd Hanif, who claimed that the machine was found to be non-functional today.

However, Rafizi stated that the matter has been resolved, and the cause of the issue was the deliberate action of some individuals who switched off the electrical supply to the machine, rendering it inoperative.

"It's okay now. Some people cleverly went and turned off the power switch there on purpose, so the machine had no electricity for a while.

"People can sometimes be mischievous," he said in a statement on the 'X' platform today.

Last March, Rafizi launched the IPR self-service machine programme as the government aimed to expand the machines to 5,000 beneficiaries under the Food Entrepreneur Initiative (INSAN) this year.

Through the INSAN initiative, recipients will be provided with self-service machines at selected locations and will receive monthly rentals paid directly to the machine providers, ranging from RM600 to RM800, depending on the type of machine.
