SHAH ALAM - The Wildlife Protection and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) will keep on monitoring and patrolling around the area where a tiger was found roaming a road in Kelantan last Tuesday.

Kelantan Perhilitan director Mohamad Hafid Rohani said that they had received a complaint at about 11am about the animal roaming the Gua Musang-Jeli route.

He said that the tiger was also seen by public nearby Kampung Lata Kertas, Dabong.

"Due to complaints received from the public, we will be monitoring the area from Wednesday.

"Monitoring is carried out by Kuala Krai Perhilitan staff together with the Wildlife Conservation Tiger Unit (KHL) from headquarters," he told Sinar today.

With regards to the operation to track down the tiger, Hafid said that Perhilitan had found some of the animal's tracks.

According to him, the operation team figured that the tiger had entered a nearby forest.

"Monitoring and patrolling in the surrounding area is resumed by the operation team from time to time," he said.
