SHAH ALAM - GrabFood consumers in Malaysia have saved over RM27 million in 2023 thus far by opting for the Saver delivery option, says Grab.

Additionally, across Southeast Asia, GrabFood consumers have saved over RM81 million on delivery fees as of August 2023.

In August this year, Grab completed 80 per cent more Saver deliveries in Aug 2023 compared to March 2023 due to the Saver delivery option becoming available in more cities across the region.

Because Malaysians love a good steal, it was no surprise Malaysia had the most signups for the Saver delivery option, making up around a third of all food orders.

Coming in second was Singapore, and then the Philippines, based on the proportion of Saver deliveries in each country.

Despite its longer delivery times due to high-volume orders, consumers remained satisfied with their orders and left good reviews.

Grab Malaysia marketing head Hassan Alsagoff said the Saver Delivery option expanded the range of consumers they were able to serve.

"Our aim is to serve all Malaysians, no matter where they are, and in every way we can - from those who are more budget conscious, to those who prioritise speed, and much more.

"Recently, we’ve made further updates to our app, giving consumers greater clarity into every order - showing when each user’s delivery fee is set and updates on their rides and deliveries in real-time," he said.
