Three women survive after car plunges off hillside

BALIK PULAU - Three women including an Indonesian national have survived after the vehicle they were in plunged off a hillside at Jalan Pondok Upeh this morning.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre spokesman said that they had received a report of the crash at 10.42am before a team from Seri Pulau Fire Station rushed to the scene.

They had found a Toyota Avanza turned turtle on the hillside at a height of 6.1 metres.

"The accident resulted in injuries to the driver and two passengers.

"All of them aged between 20 and 30 were given initial treatment before being handed over to the medical team to be sent to the hospital," he said in a statement today.

He added that the operation ended at 11.55am.
