SHAH ALAM - A total of 11 areas in the peninsula have recorded an unhealthy air pollution index (API) above 101 until 7pm today.

According to the Malaysian Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS) website, Nilai in Negeri Sembilan still recorded the highest API reading so far at 160 while Port Dickson (152) and Seremban (155).

Also recording an unhealthy API were Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (159), Batu Muda (102) and Putrajaya (152).

Unhealthy API was also reported in Banting (155) followed by Shah Alam (153), Klang (103), Petaling Jaya (153) and Johan Setia (137).

Meanwhile, based on the API distribution map on the APIMS page, a total of 56 stations across the country have recorded an average reading while another station recorded a commendable reading.

For the record, API reading of up to 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above are dangerous.
