NEW DELHI - Ten Nepalese students were killed in Saturday's violence in Israel, the Nepal government said on Sunday.

Four were also injured in the operations launched against Israeli targets by the Palestinian group Hamas.

"Our embassy is coordinating with the Foreign Affairs Ministry on how the bodies can be repatriated after examination," Kanta Rizal, Nepal's ambassador to Israel, told the Nepalese media.

Earlier on Sunday, Nepal's Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud said 17 Nepali students were studying at Israel's "Kibbutz Alumim" near the Gaza Strip and there was no contact with 11 of them.

"At present, there are approximately 4,500 Nepali nationals serving as caregivers in Israel. Additionally, 265 Nepali students are participating in Israel's learning and earning programme, sponsored by the Israeli government," Saud said. - BERNAMA
