KUALA LUMPUR - The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) team today saved a senior citizen out of a house that was affected by the flash flood here in Kampung Periuk, Kampung Baru here on Tuesday.

At least four firemen had to carry the wheelchair bound woman to safety.

Heavy rainfall in the capital at around 4.30pm caused the location to face a flash flood with waters rising at an estimate of 0.2 metres.

Efforts to carry stranded victims are currently underway by safety personnel.

As of 6pm, there have been no signs of the heavy rainfall easing.
