KUALA LUMPUR- The government allocates RM393.8 billion for Budget 2024, which is the highest ever presented.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said from the amount, the second Madani Budget allocated RM303.8 billion for operating expenses, RM90 billion for development expenses and RM2 billion ringgit for contingency.

The Prime Minister said the expenditure involved increasing the ceiling of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) by RM15 billion, making the total amount RM415 billion for a period of five years.

"This addition shows that the government is adopting a fiscal approach that expands 'expansionary fiscal stance' even though at the same time it is responsible for reducing the fiscal deficit in stages," he said when tabling the Malaysia Madani Budget 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat, here, today.
