Budget 2024: RM80 million allocated to maintain and conserve heritage buildings

KUALA LUMPUR - The government will be allocating RM80 million for the maintenance and conservation of heritage buildings.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the allocation would be used to conserve potential heritage buildings and sites recognised by Unesco such as Gua Niah in Sarawak, Lembah Bujang in Kedah and Royal Belum, Perak.

"We will also allocate RM20 million for state governments to maintain and preserve tourist attraction sites such as Tasik Timah Tasoh in Perlis, Kenong Rimba Park in Pahang and Pantai Teluk Kemang in Negeri Sembilan," he said.

He said this when tabling the Malaysia Madani Budget 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat, here, today.

Anwar who is also the Prime Minister said another RM20 million will be allocated to Think City to rejuvenate and revitalise downtown Kuala Lumpur and its adjacent significant areas as a creative and cultural capital.
