Budget 2024: Govt to continue bearing B2 class licence test

SHAH ALAM – The Finance Minister today says that the government agreed to continue bearing the cost of driving tests for motorcycle Class B2 licences, e-hailing and taxi which will benefit over 40,000 financially challenged youths.

“Some of the profit gained from the sale of special registration number will be used to ease the burden of the less fortunate families.

“A total of 100,000 helmets will also be provided for children for free for the less fortunate,” Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said when tabling the Budget 2024 today.

Anwar added the unity government had also introduced the FLYsiswa initiative, which provided subsidies for flight ticket purchases to alleviate the financial burden on students who wish to return to their hometowns.

Next year, FLYsiswa will continue to benefit nearly 60,000 students from financially challenged families.
