SHAH ALAM - MyFutureJobs will offer 50,000 job opportunities on a contract basis in the public sector and government-linked companies (GLC) starting in January 2024.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government has agreed that all Malaysia Short-term Employment Programme (MySTEP) appointments will be offered skills improvement programmes under the MyFutureJobs platform.

“This initiative will provide 50,000 contract job opportunities in the public sector and GLCs from January 2024.

“The government continues to encourage vulnerable groups, such as the disabled (OKU), former convicts, and the elderly, to secure meaningful employment.

“To motivate private employers to hire vulnerable groups, Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) will provide a special incentive of RM1,500 per month for six months to support the employment of over 3,300 job seekers, with an allocation of RM30 million,” he said when tabling the Malaysia Madani Budget 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat today.

The Prime Minister said the 1 Percent Job Opportunity Policy for OKU will be expanded to include former convicts and the elderly through the MYFutureJobs job matching programme and MySTEP.

“Vulnerable groups participating in MySTEP will be offered contractual positions with an allowance of RM1,500 for a period of six months in various ministries, GLICs, GLCs, and government strategic partners,” he said.
