SIBLING comedians Sharif and Syaiful won in the inaugural week of the "Famili Duo" programme's third season, which aired yesterday.

The unexpected win earned them RM10,000, which they've decided to contribute to the Palestinian fund.

"Given the stature of our competitors, we were naturally apprehensive.

"However, we never foresaw winning over both the judges and the audience," Sharif said.

He added that they had considered donating any potential winnings to Palestine.

Sharif made this statement post the debut show of "Famili Duo"'s third season at the NTV7 Studio in Glenmarie, Shah Alam.

He recalled how their younger sibling, Atu, had first asked him to join the previous season of "Famili Duo".

But due to scheduling conflicts, Sharif had to decline.

Upon learning about the third season, Sharif reached out to Atu once more.

This time, Atu suggested that Syaiful partner with Sharif, believing they would be a better fit based on the show's judging criteria.

Their duo secured a commendable score of 55.4 per cent.

Apart from their participation in the show, Sharif revealed that the trio, including Atu, has recorded a single.

The plan is to release it post the conclusion of "Famili Duo".

"We believe the end of FD3 will provide the perfect launch pad for our single," Sharif noted, hinting at a love-themed performance for the show's second week.

During the first week, Shila and her sibling Syahir secured the second position with 49.1 per cent.

They were trailed by Ryan and Adam Bakery (42.2 percent), Tom and Fuad (41.3 percent), Haqiem Rusli and Ariff Bahran (37.8 percent), and Adira and Ema Suhaimi (36.2 percent).

"Famili Duo" Season 3 broadcasts live at 9pm on TV3 every Sunday.
