SHAH ALAM – Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has slammed the Unity Government, alleging that it violates both democratic principles and Islamic teachings.

In his speech at the 69th Pas Muktamar, Hadi also accused Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's administration of contravening constitutional principles, including federalism.

"The Unity Government is composed of individuals with questionable backgrounds.

"In fact, the government is made up of former convicts, court cases, and those with questionable morals.

"They claim it's a unity government, but it's formed by former convicts.

"They blatantly disregard the principles of democracy and Islam," Hadi said in his speech at the 69th Pas Muktamar today.

Hadi also added that the government has been created without justice, which is a divine mandate.

"The quality of justice is essential in all aspects of life, encompassing faith, politics, economics, family, and society, among others.

"However, what we see now are double standards, kleptocracy, and a lack of knowledge on how to govern justly," he said.

Hadi stressed that addressing corruption issues must be done holistically and justly, not oppressively.

"Here, I want to stress that Pas must also have courageous leaders who can voice the people's concerns.

"Pas members must play a significant role. The performance of Pas members is the primary reason we are close to the people and advocate for their interests," he added.
