SHAH ALAM - His demeanor has not always been harsh and brash, in fact he said, he used to be quite soft, at least as soft as a Kedahan can be but these days, being tender is a luxury he can ill-afford.

“Those of the ‘Madanon’, they have been attacking me non-stop. I’d be dumb to simply soak it in and not retaliate,” said Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

The ‘Madanon’ he spoke of in his speech at a night ceramah held in conjunction with the 69th Pas Muktamar held here last night, were his political adversaries in the Madani Government.

“And when I fight back — with my words — they screamed at me, accusing me of shouting profanities at them and at their number one.

“Then they sue me. I challenge and debunk their lies and when they can’t answer me, they sue me. This strategy, is reminiscent of Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew tactics,

“When anyone who opposes open their mouth, just sue. So, that at the end of the day no one will speak against you. No more opposition,” he said.

In spite of the legal threats, Sanusi claimed that he will not mellow and cower against the Pakatan Harapan (PH) - Barisan Nasional (BN) government.

Especially so, against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“Because he does not practice what he preaches. When he was in the opposition, and when the exchange rate of ringgit dipped against the US dollar, he touted that the PM then failed to take care of the country.

“And now, when the same thing happens he comes up with all sorts of excuses. Well, let us shout his words back at him. You have failed to take care of the country,” he bellowed.

When it was time to end his speech, Sanusi implored not just Pas members but also those were dissapointed with the Government to pray the latter’s collapse.

“Let us pray that the messiness in PH-BN continues to fester so that their government will fall.

“They think that the government is theirs, just because their party won the election, when in fact once they become government, they need to take care of every single Malaysian.

“But they are not. They are only taking care of those who are on their side,” Sanusi said.
