KUANTAN - The construction project of toll booths in Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands has not been notified to the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) and the Works Ministry.

Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman said she had received confirmation regarding the construction of the toll plaza in the area since Oct 13.

"I have received a confirmation that the construction of the toll plaza in the area does not involve and has not been notified to LLM and the Public Works Ministry.

"However, any development project on a private land must obtain a Planning Permission from the local authority (PBT)," she said in a statement today.

She said that so far, the Bentong Municipal Council (MPB) and Pahang state government have not received any application in regards to the project.

"Therefore, a halt order had been issued by MBK for the developer to stop any further construction until the developer had sent an application to be examined, evaluated and approved," she said.

Young also acknowledged the fact that the issue had gone viral as it had sparked concerns among various parties.

"For everyone's information, Genting Highlands is a private land. For a long time, the road to Genting Highlands is managed by Genting Highlands itself," she said.
