Sanusi wins handsomely at Pas polls

SHAH ALAM – Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was the biggest winner at this year’s Pas polls, bagging a total of 1,098 votes -- out of the 1,141 delegates who cast their ballots, earning him a seat on the party’s central executive committee.

Trailing behind the Kedah Menteri Besar, was former youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari who won 1,042 votes followed by Dr Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi at 1,033 votes. Khalil is the son of Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

The party polls for the term 2023 – 2025 only saw one competitive race, involving the election of 18 central executive committee members vied by 22 candidates.

There were no changes in the top leadership; namely the president, deputy president and vice-presidents, as all incumbents won their respective posts uncontested.

President: Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang

Deputy President: Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man

Vice-Presidents: Datuk Idris Ahmad, Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah dan Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
