#QuranHour For Gaza: Sombre and emotional atmosphere during dua recitation

SHAH ALAM - It was a melancholic and emotional atmosphere at the Karangkraf Complex, here as Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) lecturer Mohd Shamsul Hakim Abd Samad recites the dua at the #QuranHour For Gaza programme.
The dua was made for the Palestinians who were struggling from hardships.
Participants of the programme were deeply moved by the dua with some shedding tears thinking about what the people of Palestine were going through.
Shamsul said the dua was an act of humility and repentance to Allah SWT, as everything that happened in Gaza or elsewhere happened by His will.
"Perhaps what is happening is a lesson for our mistakes and sins towards Allah SWT, humanity or our brothers and sisters in Gaza.
"Therefore, we need to place all our hope in the Almighty in this struggle," he said after programme.
Shamsul said the dua also focused on motivating Muslims to gain the strength to continue with their religious practices, such as performing congregational prayers, reading the Quran and following the Sunnah of the Prophet, to achieve victory in every struggle.
He hoped that the Palestinian people would always be granted the strength to continue their struggle to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque which was once the spot where Prophet Muhammad PBUH ascended to heaven during his night journey (Al-Isra' wa Al-Mi'raj) and the qibla for all Muslims.
"Hopefully, before our lives end, we will have the opportunity to see the Al-Aqsa Mosque be liberated and all Muslims can once again inherit that blessed land.
"This prayer is offered with the hope that the Muslim community will reach the peak of success, strength and unity and that they will be able to rebuild the strength of the ummah (community) in the future, as it is the key to real victory," he said.
He added that programmes like #QuranHour For Gaza needed to continue in the future to raise awareness among the ummah, especially regarding the responsibility of the Muslim community to advocate for the fate of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
He emphasised that demonstrations and spirited slogans alone were not enough, as strategic planning must begin with oneself so that the ummah can return to the pinnacle of success, as promised by Allah SWT, to whom victory belongs.
