KUANTAN - Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah (Yasa), a foundation established under the patronage of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, organised its first #PahangNextWealth Stock Investment Seminar in Kuantan yesterday.

Yasa general manager Mohd Fakhrul Islam Juhali said the programme was held following Al-Sultan Abdullah's concern for the economic progress of the people in the state.

He said the seminar was to help the people improve their financial literacy, increase their stock investment and guide them in making financial decisions.

According to him, the seminar, which was attended by 1,000 participants was open to the public and university students, as part of a series of financial education programmes planned for people of all ages in Pahang under Yasa's #PahangNextWealth initiative.

"Limited job opportunities and vast rural areas have been among the economic challenges faced by some people in Pahang.

"Taking this into consideration and realising the importance of getting the people of Pahang aware of the various investment tools, including technologies and applications that can be used to increase their income, including through equity investments, the seminar was organised,” he said in a statement today.

The programme was inaugurated by Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri'ayatuddin Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah on behalf of his brother, the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.

Also present was Bursa Malaysia chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar. - BERNAMA
