Residents puzzled by green light illuminating Sungai Besar's sky

SABAK BERNAM - Residents in Sungai Besar were shocked to witness part of the sky being illuminated in green on Tuesday night.

The image was captured by a Facebook user who uploaded a picture of the phenomenon in a residential area here.

Facebook user Man Toya in his post said that the green light he saw raised questions.

"Sungai Besar, why is this light so bright and moving?" he said through in a post, along with images of the claimed phenomenon at about 8.30pm.

Residents who witnessed the phenomenon also left comments on the description of the photo.

Facebook user Cik Faa said she noticed the green light in front of the house.

"As soon as the call for Isyak prayers was over, it (the green light in the airspace) disappeared," he commented.

Another Facebook user Mohamad Amirul also reported seeing the phenomenon.

He said the incident was considered strange because it happened in front of his house facing the road.

"Behind my house is the sea, but I see it in front of the house, it’s impossible that the fisherman catches squid on the road (instead of the sea), (it feels) strange," he said.

However, some comments attributed the light to a fishing boat fishing for squid in the nearby sea.

Another user Nor Faridah said the light came from a fishing boat in the nearby Bagan area.

However, the green light in the sky was only seen for a short period of time.
