SHAH ALAM - The Sinar Karangkraf Aid Fund for baby Sufi Syafrina has closed, raising nearly RM250,000.

Sinar Karangkraf Group Chief Marketing and Branding Officer Nik Justin Nik Mohd Ariffin expressed his gratitude for the public's support, especially during these uncertain economic times.

He also highlighted the significant contributions made by corporate entities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) since the fund was launched three months ago.

He specifically thanked Berjaya Group, the Selamat Community Association (Ikatan), the Malaysian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Welfare Organization (PEKTAP), the Selangor Zakat Board and other companies that requested anonymity for their contributions and support.

Nik Justin also shared that the condition of Sufi Syafrina, a nine-month-old baby suffering from genetic disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) was still uncertain but remained stable.

"She is currently under close care from her family at home and still needs to make repeated visits to the hospital for follow-up treatment.

"Alhamdulillah, she is getting better but weak in the lungs.

"Sufi is rather sensitive to any diseases and easily susceptible to them, making her somewhat susceptible to the pain she experiences," Nik Justin said.
