KUALA NERUS - Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar refuses to comment further on rumours that he will be a candidate in the Kemaman by-election on Dec 2.

He said no decision had been made so far regarding the candidate who will be nominated in the election.

"I have no comment about that (rumour). I can't say yes, I can't say no. So, there is no comment because the party has not made a decision yet.

"If I comment left or right, your editors will make a sensational headline. So, I don't want to comment," he said when met by reporters after the Prize Presentation Ceremony of the National Bowling Padang Championship at the Terengganu State Sports Complex, here on Friday afternoon.

However, Samsuri said the first meeting of the Central Pas would take place this Monday after the completion of the 69th Pas Summit which took place at the Ideal Convention Center (IDCC), Shah Alam.

"It (meeting) is to confirm the appointment of other positions. So, I am not sure whether or not there is an agenda (discussing the Kemaman Parliamentary by-election) this Monday.

"In any case, if not this week, next week or the following week, it will be announced by the party president or secretary general. The decision has not been made yet on who will go public, even choosing a candidate has not been completed yet," he said.

The Election Commission (EC) previously set the nomination date for the Kemaman by-election on Nov 18, voting day (Nov 28) and voting day on Dec 2.
