KANGAR - Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is providing 25 special scholarships to Palestinian students enrolled at the university, in an effort to help them pursue their studies comfortably.

UniMAP said that the scholarship included accommodation, tuition fees and daily expenses, to support the students currently pursuing their studies at the university.

UniMAP vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Ts Dr Zaliman Sauli, reiterated the university's commitment to the Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia, Walid Abu Ali, during a meeting in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, it said in a statement today.

"One of the topics addressed during the discussion was the challenges experienced by Palestinian students at UniMAP. The commitment made was not limited to offering financial aid, but also providing emotional and moral support to these students.

"The discussion also focused on the tragedy befalling one Palestinian student at UniMAP, who lost a family member, triggering concern and compassion from the university,” read the statement.

UniMAP reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian people’s struggle, and condemned Israel's cruel actions, reflecting the university's spirit of solidarity in advocating for human rights and global justice. - BERNAMA
