KUANTAN - The Pahang Menteri Besar had a slip of the tongue when he said 'Palestin Pengecut, Palestine Hancur' (Coward Palestine, Doom Palestine) at the Pahang For Palestine Rally at Kuantan City Council (MBK) Compund yesterday.

Pahang Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports, and Non-Government Bodies Exco Fadzli Mohamad Kamal said that the mistake was immediately noticed by the Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, and he had corrected as well as acknowledged it.

"As the rally secretariat coordinator, I feel called to comment on an issue that had been deliberately spread across social media at the moment following the speech error of Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail at the assembly.

"I was at the scene, and the Menteri Besar was speaking passionately, and when he had mistakenly said those words, I immediately told him, and he immediately corrected it, admitted that he had misspoke, and asked that it not be made public," he recounted.

He said that the state leader had no intent to support Israel at all.

"How could MB want to support Israel? We know that it was a mistake. Why are you still spreading it around? What's the intention behind all that? "Actually, there are many other things that can be announced to the public in regard to the gathering, among which Pahang is the first state to organise a large-scale rally in support of Palestine, a donation of RM100,000 for the Pahang For Palestine Fund," he shared.

He added that the MB had also firmly and boldly condemned the United Nations (UN) for its failure to take stern action against Israeli atrocities.

"This is what we should have spread around. Why bother trying to make the speech issue go viral when he (Wan Rosdy) had clearly admitted to having slipped of the tongue? "Don't let popularity, views, and likes cause us to spread news that can jeopardise the harmony of our society. Share accurate and good news," he said.
