SHAH ALAM - The surge in the death toll, now reaching 8,000 in Gaza, highlights allegations against Israel, suggesting they surpass even apartheid labels.

Malaysian Islamic Consultative Council (Mapim) president Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid said that Israel's actions, in his view, make it challenging to label them as anything but a terrorist state.

He believes that mere peace negotiations have become untenable due to the severity of their actions.

Azmi urged the global community to intervene against what he termed as "Zionist terrorist acts."

"The consequences of inaction are dire. The world cannot remain passive witnessing what's unfolding in Gaza.

"Immediate military intervention from external powers in Gaza is imperative," he said in a statement today.

Azmi stated that Israel's operations in Gaza, which he described as 'monstrous,' have escalated drastically, aided by unwavering support from the United States.

He opined that for every life lost in Gaza, the United Nations (UN) and its entities should bear responsibility for their perceived inaction against Israel.

"The recent ceasefire resolution by the Special United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) seemed to have a minimal effect," he stressed.

Azmi bemoaned that the mounting casualties and ravaged infrastructure in Gaza have been reduced to mere statistics for global audiences.

He shared the UN's cautionary note, highlighting the potential for even more casualties due to Israel's sustained activities in Gaza.

Azmi painted a grim picture of the situation in Gaza, citing not just immediate fatalities from bombings but also the crippling effects of the ongoing siege.

"The collapse of essential services is evident. Medical supplies, food, and water are dwindling, and sewage is increasingly flooding Gaza's streets," he added.
