KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Pas will maintain implementing a peaceful, developed and successful political system in line with the culture and diversity of its population.

Newly appointed Sabah Pas Commissioner Dr Aliakbar Gulasan said the party will continue to cultivate positive relationships with all parties, including political parties, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), individuals and the people of the state.

"As a political party that has been established in Sabah for a long time, Sabah Pas will continue to build good relations with all parties whether political parties, NGOs, individuals and ordinary people.

"We will keep implementing a prosperous, civilised and culturally sensitive political strategy that respects diversity and culture of the people in Sabah," he said in a statement, today.

He assured that Sabah Pas will continue to actively run various programmes in the state.

"The programmes include welfare, educational development, welcoming communities of various races and religions, strengthening various social works including during natural disasters and various other social and political activities," he said.

Aliakbar also expressed gratitude to the Pas Central leadership for entrusting him to lead Sabah Pas.

“I, along with the new leadership line-up who will be appointed later, will try our best to make Sabah Pas one of the Sabah people's preferred political parties.

Aliakbar, who previously held the position of the party's Sabah secretary was appointed as the new Sabah Pas Commissioner replacing Mohd Aminuddin Aling who held the position since 2011.
