JELEBU - Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) is on high alert following allegations of poor food hygiene at Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) Kuala Klawang's cafeteria, suspected to have caused food poisoning in some students.

Mara has promptly responded by coordinating with the District Health Office (PKD) to investigate the cafeteria's hygiene practices.

"A thorough examination by the PKD has been conducted, and the cleanliness performance of the environment is good, and the food handling processes comply with the established standards.

"As a result of this observation, the PKD and MRSM management have issued warnings to the operators of the school's cafeteria," Mara said in a statement today.

According to Mara, monitoring of the students has also been carried out, and so far, no one has exhibited symptoms of food poisoning as alleged.

It assured that food suppliers are strictly following standard operating procedures (SOPs) in food preparation.

"Parents are urged not to worry and to contact MRSM for any concerns," the statement read.

This follows a social media uproar where a Facebook user posted pictures of spoiled eggs allegedly served at the cafeteria, claiming it wasn't the first instance of substandard food being served.
