KEMAMAN - An unemployed man was remanded for six days starting on Sunday after he was suspected of sexually assaulting his four- and five-year-old nieces in an incident at Chukai, here.

The remand order on the suspect was released by Magistrate Sharifah Amirda Shasha Amir Sharifuddin at the Magistrate’s Court here to enable investigations to be done through Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017.

The Kemaman district police chief Superintendent Hanyan Ramlan said the 45-year-old suspect was arrested after police received the report regarding the actions by the complainant.
