SHAH ALAM - Jeli MP Zahari Kechik has become the fourth Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) lawmaker to declare his support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, highlighting his commitment to his constituents' well-being and development.

"My priority is my constituents, and I cannot compromise when it comes to ensuring their welfare and progress.

"I want to provide them with the best possible opportunities and infrastructure," Zahari said in a statement today.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to Bersatu while clarifying that his decision to support Anwar was independent of any external pressure.

Zahari 's announcement follows similar declarations of support from Gua Musang MP Datuk Azizi Abu Naim, Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid, and Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman, all of whom cited constituent welfare as the primary motivation for their decision.

Bersatu has suspended Suhaili for six years and Iskandar Dzulkarnain for four years.

In both instances, the party’s disciplinary board had ruled that the duo breached Bersatu’s constitution.
