Coldplay concert in KL: Here are some do’s and don’ts

Months after news broke that Coldplay will be performing in Kuala Lumpur, fans are finally counting down the days to immerse themselves in the band’s greatest hits at the National Stadium Bukti Jalil this Nov 22.

The event organiser, Live Nation has issued out a reminder for concert goers to ensure everyone experiences a hassle-free, memorable time.

“Please be mindful of the local culture and sensitivities in Malaysia and avoid displaying props or items that may cause discomfort to others. Let’s keep the focus on the music and the shared enjoyment of the event,” the statement read.

As you gear up for an unforgettable experience, these are other do’s and don’ts to keep in mind highlighted by the organiser.

DO

- Bring your own water bottle if you are in the seated area as water stations are available throughout the concourse and field area. However, GA floor ticket holders will not be allowed to bring a bottle due to security restrictions.

- Remember to recycle your waste into designated bins which are located at the venue.

- Make sure you have sufficient balance in your Touch n Go card should you plan to take the train. The operating hours will be extended to 1am.

- If you plan to utilise e-hailing services, set the pick up or drop off location to the National Hockey Stadium or Coldplay Concert 2023 - Bukit Jalil National Stadium. There are also additional carpark spaces at the Technology Park Malaysia (Mranti Park).

DON’T

- Don’t get involved in malicious behaviour that may get you escorted out of the venue such as waiting for the artists outside or inside the venue (including all-nighters).

“Waiting inside or outside the venue or in public spaces nearby, chasing or sitting on the streets nearby is not only dangerous to the artists and the public but may also cause accidents or trouble involving the general public.

“Parties involved must resolve any accidents or incidents caused by these actions,” the organiser wrote.

Here are the list of items prohibited in the concert venue:

- Outside food and beverage

- Bags larger than A4 size

- Professional photography or drones

- Laptops / tablets

- Pets

- Umbrella / laser pens

- Helmets

- Ladders / folding chairs

- Alcohol

- Cigarettes / e-cigarettes

- Flammable items / fireworks

- Tripods or selfie sticks

- Weapons

- Drugs

- Banners larger than A4 size (No political / LED / Pride content)

The highly-anticipated event is part of the band's Music of the Spheres World Tour and marks the band's first ever show in Malaysia.

Coldplay, which is made up of Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Phil Harvey, Will Champion and Johnny Buckland are known for hits like "Fix You", "Yellow", "A Sky Full of Stars".
