SHAH ALAM - Pictures of an outdoor area of Bukit Jalil Stadium which was filled with trash and litter due to a handful of irresponsible concert goers went viral on social media yesterday.

An 11-second video recording shared on the X app, pictured the stadium grounds filled with rubbish ahead of the 'Coldplay: Music Of The Spheres World Tour In Kuala Lumpur' concert, which took place last night.

Through the footage, piles of plastic food waste and drink bottles thrown away by spectators filled an alley nearby where people queued to enter the stadium.

As of 7.30pm last night, the post garnered 466,000 views and 1,372 re-shares (reposts).

The majority of X users condemned the irresponsible actions of these litterbugs.

One of the users, @nabilfikran10, commented that this behaviour was shameful, as Coldplay had previously sponsored Malaysia to clean up garbage in the river.

"Coldplay had spent RM3.2 million sponsoring an 'interceptor' (garbage trap machine) to clean up rivers. After that, you throw the garbage on the ground anyway," he said.

Meanwhile, @faktura commented that, due to such irresponsible attitudes, Malaysia is far behind Singapore and Japan in terms of hygiene.

Coldplay's first ever concert in the country received a positive response from fans when tickets sold out within four hours of going on sale last May.
