AGC directs cop to complete Agus-Wahab probe

KUALA LUMPUR - The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) has directed the police to complete the investigation into the case of lewd conversation involving former community communications department (J-Kom) director-general Agus Yusoff.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the investigation paper had been referred to the AGC last Friday.

"Several actions need to be taken before the investigation paper is referred again after action has been taken by the police.

"The steps includes technical reports from other agencies including the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and telecommunication companies," he said when contacted on Tuesday.

Commenting on the allegations of sexual harassment involving Agus, he said that the investigation was the same, which was to find the truth and justice for both parties.

"There is another investigation paper regarding the situation in Bintulu, Sarawak which was opened according to Section 354 of the Penal Code and 377D of the Penal Code.

"Thus, the police will call anyone who can help the investigation," he said.

He said, the decision whether an arrest would be made against Agus or otherwise, depending on the investigation.

"At this stage, we are still conducting investigations to obtain material evidence for the testimony and allegations made," he said.

Previously, Agus and assistant J-Kom officer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani in a special press conference on Oct 17 claimed that the video of their conversation that went viral on social media had actually been edited.

Wahab, 33, claimed to have been instructed by an individual named 'Mr H' to record a video of his conversation with Agus.

Agus, then said the identity of 'Mr H' was revealed to the police when he gave evidence to the investigating officer at the Kajang District Headquarters (IPD).
